As I woke up this morning I realized how important meditation could be for humanity. I really, really wish that more people take over this beautiful method of quieting the mind. Why?
If you want to live a more fulfilled life, first you will want to know your potential, who you really are. Meditation is the route to that knowing. Read these two sentences again.
“Practice meditation regularly. Meditation leads to eternal bliss. Therefore meditate, meditate” Swami Sivananda
It is the methodology of the science of awareness. Something people tend to forget. Be more aware, know where you going, feel the steps. It is important to understand that meditation is simply being aware of what is happening both within and around us. So ultimately, this is just a natural part of everything we do, twenty-four hours a day. Learning what is going on rather than being immersed in it can take awhile.
The beauty of the inner science is that it enables whoever wants to explore and to experiment within, to do so alone. This eliminates dependence on an outer authority, the need to be affiliated with any organization and the obligation to accept a certain ideology. Once you understand the steps, you walk the walk in your own, individual way.
My suggestions
- Find a guided meditation that helps you. There’s that have work for me. From finding one in YouTube, Deepak Chopra website to plenty of apps: Insight Timer, Calm, Headspace. All are easy to find and easy to follow.
- Start slowly. 5 minutes first week, 10 minutes second week and so.
- Pick any place that makes you feel comfortable. Sitting on a chair, watching the ocean, resting on your bed or hammock. Anywhere!
- Close your eyes
- Make no effort to control the breath; simply breathe naturally.
- Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation.
- If your mind wanders, return your focus back to your breath.
- Trust the process!
If you are meditating currently happy to hear. For those daring something new, please do so…you won’t regret it!
Have a great rest of the week!
