What your drink says about you?

People like to drink. I like to drink and I know a lot of people who loves to drink. Your beverage of choice can say a lot about your mood and a lot of who you are. You might not be aware of it, but it’s true. Every time you order a certain drink at the bar, it immediately tells the people around you something about yourself. Here’s what you need to know.

Classic beer

A beer like Budweiser could be the “king of beers”, but it’s the least showy drink ever. It’s what your dad drank when he first introduced you to beer — there’s something familiar, and yet boring about it. Those who drink it want to perhaps seem down-to-earth, low maintenance, or very casual. You probably are not interested in impressing anyone and you’re confident about yourself. You like sports and Dave Mathews Band and think Dane Cook is funny.

Craft beer

People that drink specialized beers, like IPAs, dig that they are a cut above the plain and boring brewskies. You want to seem relaxed yet not boring. You could be very picky in your everyday choices and you can change your mind a lot. Your dream is to open your own microbrewery in Vermont. You think your beer makes you look more interesting and the stronger the taste the better. Drinking is an art to you. You are comfortably middle class and have never had to worry about much of anything.

Margarita

You are probably think that ordering a Margarita will make it look like you know how to have a good time. You’re probably an office worker or maybe a kindergarten teacher or something like that. Once you get a few margaritas in you, you’re suddenly an incoherent mess, and you’ll probably spend the rest of the night vomiting and crying while someones tries to help you.

Scotch

You’re a person that like distinction and drinks that are more smoky, expensive and masculine.  It depends on your age. If you’re older, it says that you’re probably a bit of an asshole – an asshole with refined tastes. If you’re younger, it says that you’re probably also an asshole, but an apprentice asshole, that you are either trying to impress someone. You are charming – or at least you think you are. You usually treat people with respect, but be careful to be too overbearing with others.

Artisanal cocktail

Drinks with dainty ingredients like elderflower liqueur are crazy trendy right now. You’re a person who are always following the trends or new experiences, you know were to hang out, and like to surround yourself with cool people. People who try these cocktails are often experimenting with new drinks and want to explore their options. You probably are very creative and intelligent.

Mojitos

You are not the one to go home after a tiring day. You love to work hard and party harder. Your boss is quite impressed and friends love to hang out with you. You are dependable and have a good sense of humor. You like to live life to the maximum. You are patient and are willing to try out new experiences in life. You believe learning never stops and are constantly improving yourself.

Wine

Drinking wine means sophistication and sexiness. A person who enjoys wine likes intellectual topics, cheese and fruits. You think of yourself as slightly classier, and that you probably are a secret alcoholic but it totally doesn’t count because, like you tell everyone, wine is just classier. Whenever anyone dares the subject of your chronic drinking you get defensive and start rattling off wine’s health benefits.  However, drinking wine at a bar or a club when everyone else is drinking cocktails can come off as snobby.

Martinis 

These drinks were popularized by the show Sex and the City and James Bond which promotes sexuality and independence. You believe in style.  Men who drink these drinks, are often judged  harshly by other men due to the sweet, sensual flavors of these drinks which personify estrogen. Everything you do is studied, measured, and you are the type who helps other’s, specially helping someone else’s vomiting with one hand and your martini in the other.

Gin a tonic

Gin and tonic is one of the oldest drinks in existence. It is a simple drink, with very simple taste. It’s slightly sweet, slightly bitter, and with just enough alcoholic taste to not come off as too feminine. It’s the drink of choice for many, but it’s also the safest choice when you’re not sure how you want to act that night. You could be very traditional, a little bit boring and like to play it safe sometimes.

Vodka cranberry 

That you either have absolutely no imagination or you don’t know what else to order. It’s usually a woman’s drink and if you are a guy you probably can’t stand the taste of alcohol, but want to get drunk anyway. You’ll marry Domestic Beer person and eventually turn into Wine person.

Long Island Ice Tea

Few words: You like to get drunk for cheap! Due to the large amount of blended hard liquor and almost nothing else in this drink, it is safe to assume that if you’re drinking this, you want to get drunk. I remember my college years when I used to drink it just to get drunk fast under $20.

Rum and coke (with lime)

You wish you were at the beach right now. It’s one of those drinks that introduces you to drinking, but you grow out of it fast.  But, can also mean that you are stuck in college days and you haven’t try something different in a while. Those who continue to drink it either can’t appreciate alcohol, or just want something simple that they know will easily go down.

Jagger Bomb or any shot (tequila)

All alcohol releases endorphins, but for some reason, it is suspected that tequila or any shots maximizes this effect. It is also popularized by movies and television, further cementing it’s position as the partying drink. You are adventurous and a risk taker. You do it first and think about it later. You feel life is a challenge and you must meet it head on. You are always pushing your limits.You’re a lot of fun and like to get drunk, really quickly … or in store for a embarrassing night followed by an even worse hangover.

Whisky

Whiskey is a strong drink, the alcohol content is high and the flavors are robust. It’s a drink that men use to assert their dominance since the ability to stomach that drink requires a high tolerance for not only alcohol, but the intense flavors. Often, this masculinity can be seen as attractive, however, it can also be arrogant as well since people who drink whiskey often like to perceive themselves as better than others.

Champagne

You’re celebrating something. Maybe it’s a birthday, an anniversary or a new promotion. Or maybe you’re just celebrating another day in your fabulous, fabulous life. You’re sophisticated, you have a lot of friends, you like to go fine dining, travel and the “good life”.
