Did you know they are 193 countries in the world? That’s a lot! Do you feel that there’s must be something more to life than doing the same tasks and routines over and over again? Maybe you are feeling the urge to “wake up” and embark on an adventure which will be a source of both excitement and learning experiences. In my case, I need to do something about this …. I NEED TO TRAVEL MORE OR MOVE AWAY!!!!!
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine
I’ve been wondering almost everyday about the idea of traveling and how I’m going to deal with this urge. Right now is very frustrating for me the fact that I need to work and I can’t travel as often. Not only I need lots of money to do it, but also need to quit my job and travel the world for a few months in order to be completely satisfied. It’s a crazy idea, but lately is all I think about!! Although I live in a city full of diversity and I learn a lot everyday, but still I have the urge of seeing more (nature, eat random food, meet the locals, etc…). So, I did research about the benefits and options, read below.
“He who does not travel does not know the value of men.” – Moorish proverb
Few reasons to move country or quit your job and travel more:
1. You’ll become more open-minded and will start being more creative. Seeing and experiencing new things everyday!
2. Your job is dragging you down. (In very rare cases it’s not, and that rocks.)
3. You’re unhappy.
4. Gain a whole new perspective on life which fills you with energy. It’s a great way to keep young!
5. Traveling long-term is cheaper than living wherever you’re living. :/
6. It will stretch you to do things you didn’t think you could do.
7. You’ll have a blast everyday!!!!
8. You can eat your favorite foods in the countries where they originated. Also, you’ll experience new foods that will quickly become your new favorites.
9. You will stumble onto awesome events.
10. You will meet, and make friends with, people who you would never have met staying where you are. Most of us only associate with people in our immediate geographical areas. Boost for social skills.
11. Facing your fears is good for you and you will face all of them, sometimes in a single day, when traveling. How many fears do you face on a daily basis? How much do you grow as a person at your day job?
12. You will have more time for yourself.
“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” – Lin Yutang
What to do?? I know these reasons are amazing and I do understand that the feeling of doing this could be overwhelming and maybe you’ll feel scared of getting out of your comfort zone (I been there), but…. what we have to lose? We all going to die anyways! Sorry to say that, but it’s true… I don’t want to look back as an old lady and think “Wow, so much beauty in the world and I didn’t saw it”. I guess I don’t like what if’s.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” –Mark Twain
I want to be free!!!!
Have a great day!!! Make new decisions 🙂
