If someone tells you today that you are dying tomorrow, can you look back at your life and say: “I’m satisfied with my life”. I know nobody wants to die tomorrow and I don’t want to put a sad mood here, but the reality is that we all going to die someday. Personally if I look back to my life experiences I will probably say “I’m really satisfied”. Why?
1. I always try to give 100% in all my relationships I always there for my family and my friends. If I’m not visiting, I’m calling, texting or sending letters to the people I love. I don’t do that to have something in return, but because I’m grateful with their company, support and love to me. I have learned that not all people are like me and they don’t reach to me the same way I do with them, but at the end I know I always try to give my best in any relationship and that counts a lot for me. The things that you do for others, the time spend with them and the things you say count when we are living, not when we are dead…in that way you’ll never regret that you haven’t done enough. I feel glad and lucky to have amazing relationships that not only make me happy, they make me grow.
2. I have follow my dreams I decided a time ago that I will never be the type of person to be sitting around and waiting for my dreams to come truth. Reality is that if you want something you have to search and fight for it. Nobody wins the lotto without buying the ticket first. I’ve done a lot of things in my life that I’m really satisfied: move from my Island, dance until morning, kiss fiercely, live the life I always wanted, eat amazing food, have lazy days, helped people, travel a lot and more. That’s my life dream – surround myself with amazing people and enjoy every step of life!
3. Not everything is around $$- Maybe I don’t have all the money I want, but the one I have now is enough for me to eat, drink, enjoy and sleep. Sometimes you can’t have everything that you wanted but instead of focusing on having more money you should see the big panorama around you. We as humans always want more: the perfect house, the amazing relationships, the perfect job and the awesome car. Focusing in money all the time can damage your relationships and at the end you will be alone with the money (empty inside). I believe that you can have all that if you work hard, but the most important thing in life is that you enjoy what you have now (present) and you will feel happy with yourself.
4. I stop worrying for smalls stuff- They are things in life that I can’t control. I have learned that they are people who are going to disappoint you, that the job you wanted is for somebody else, that the kitchen could be dirty for days, that the weather sucks sometimes, that the flight got canceled, that some people are not reliable and many other stuff that can damage your beautiful day. Takes strength and patience to deal with it and deciding how much of your time and energy you would be giving to worrying for this “small stuff”. My best medicine? talk it out and breathe deep for 10 minutes. Believe me your body will thank you for not putting more stress into your life.
5. I have taken the time to know myself- When I was young I thought the purpose of life is to be there for others and I never thought I should be helping me first before helping others. I learned a lot of stuff over the years which it’s part of growing older, but the most important one was when I took the time to question myself, “What do I want for ME?” Did a lot of reading, took personal trips, did exercise, talked to people about my issues, wrote and you know what I discovered? I”M AWE-SOME!!! When you take time for YOU to know what you want, what you like and what you don’t like and you discover the answers. It’s an amazing and empowering feeling. I believe to make your life happier is to love yourself first. Now I feel free to helping others, I’m not insecure, I have more control of things and I’m more me (not a copy).

I think this sums up why I’m so happy with my life and why I’m not scared to die. Of course, I hope I die on my sleep and I don’t have the time to look back of what I done or not done, but if that was the case, I’m really satisfied where I’m right now.
It’s been a great journey to know myself better, to have cherish my life with awesome people and to witness the beauty on simple things. I think life doesn’t get worse growing older, I think it get’s WAY BETTER. What about you? Are you living the life you always dream of? Are you satisfied with your decisions? Have you said before, “I could die right now and I would be happy”? Is the answer is yes, welcome to my club : we are living the life of our dream!
Have a great day!
xoxo,
Cristina
